The faculty members of the department are well qualified, and energetic, holding degrees from premier institutions with a wide range of domain knowledge. Many faculty members are pursuing Ph.D in different areas, such as Digital image Processing, Wireless Networks, Software Engineering, Fuzzy database and development of Intelligent Systems.

The department provides state of the art four lecture rooms and three computer laboratories equipped with latest processors and softwares. Each class room and laboratory is equipped with LCD projectors and internet access. To impact a good quality engineering education in the field of IT, the department focuses on development of practical and application oriented minds. The students are trained through project based learning approach so that after B.Tech they are ready for joining IT industry.

The department follows a well proven pedagogy of imparting knowledge to young minds, who are future of the nation.

The faculty members of IT department take extra interest to guide students in developing quality projects; Many such projects by students are published in international journals including IEEExplore, Springer and other reputed journals.

Right from the second year IT students are trained to develop projects and they start participating in national and international project competition.

Apart from excellent academic activities students participate and win accolades in events, workshops, seminar held in IIT’s, NIT’s and other reputed institutions. They have won prizes in IBM sponsored TGMC projects in 2013.

IT students find placement in premier industries like TCS, IBM, HCL, Tech Mahindra, Birla Soft besides many others.

In order to generate competitive environment for students, the department of IT regularly organizes national seminars, workshops and technical events inviting participation of students from other institutions as well.

Faculty members of IT department are very active researches with varied experience in different areas of information technology by way of publishing research paper in reputed international journals and writing curriculum based technical books.

The department has four Computer Labs equipped with state of the art IBM Quad Core Xeon Server, Core 2 Duo Pcs mostly with latest configuration there exist a complete range of software including IBM's Rational Enterprise Suite. All desktops in the department are interconnected through LAN and Internet enabled through Wi-Fi at 10 Mbps Bandwidth.
